Adobe Masters Tour Malaysia
on 10th July 2008, i was invited by Anne to go to Adobe masters Tour 2008. Went there with another famous blogger, brandon, mixter and bat. There’s also my classmate, Sharmilla Devi. we’re sat on VIP seat. There was 3 masters, Greg Rewis, Rufus Deuchler, Jason Levine and also SeniorĀ Paul Burnett. The event was held at Megaview Deck. So i was on top of the Malaysia, spending hours with the masters.

So first, the masters demonstrate to us the workflow collaboration of all Adobe Products. All of them using Adobe Bridge as command center of their files. Me and sabau were still using traditional method which is centralised folder. that day, the masters also revealing the functionalities of Adobe Bridge that i never see before. Maybe after this i should start using Bridge.

So Rufus starts with building logo in Illustrator. Among the new things i know is swatches library. I’m not an avid user of Illustrator so those things are totally new with me. Then he also demonstrate the usage of Appearance Panel, which have the same functions like Layers. You can add fill and strokes multiple times through Appearance Panel. Then he moves into Live Color. Remember the color wheel? Last time in Faculty of Creative Multimedia, MMU, we, FCM-ers have to do color wheel. Live Color enables you to set/and drag multiple points of colors and also maintaining their relationship, like triads, tetrads, primary and secondary colors.
Next, Jason Levine demonstrate the capabilities of Adobe OnLocation. Haha again i’ve never used Adobe OnLocation. It’s a software that enables you to do direct capture to hard disk. But this only possible if you bring your desktop or laptop to the filming set.you can record multiple footage and also do editing in Adobe Premiere Pro in the same time, provided that you use extremely powerful computer. However, Adobe OnLocation only available for Windows OS and Jason demonstrating it using MacBook Pro and running Windows Vista using BootCamp.
Next, Greg Rewis shows up and new things i learn was Layer Composition. But the greatest revelation was about Web Image Optimization in Fireworks. If you’re exporting pictures/PSD for web usage, better to use Fireworks than Photoshop. At the same settings of the picture he demonstrated that Fireworks output at 80KB only and Photoshop output was 180KB. that was 100KB differences.Don’t you worry if you didn’t have Fireworks, because the Import Image function in Dreamweaver use the same engine for Fireworks so your images will still become low in size.
Paul Burnett came in at the last of collaborative demo session. He demonstrate the Flash Video Capabilities to display multiple subtitles. after that, we have a lunch at Revolving Restaurant Seri Angkasa. The afternoon session continues with a more detailed process of what was done during the morning collaborative sessions. Too much details every second that makes me forget to write it all down. Things like photomerge, vanishing point, 3D controls and textures for Photoshop Extended.Rufus also reveals the easter Egg for InDesign. Open About InDesign and type Butterfly. Well I don’t want to tell you what will happen as i want you to find out.

But of all things that already made my brain very overloaded with new things, this image above is the most most anticipating by me. Flash CS4 Professional was inside Rufus laptop. And if i’m not mistaken, I also saw CS4 CleanScript, which is the program used to run uninstallation of Adobe Programs for Apple Macs. and here are the interface of Flash CS4.

And just in case you didn’t confident this is the CS4, below are the list of toolbars. I notice there’s a new tools.

In Q&A sessions, there’s a fella asking bout when CS4 will be released, the masters, of course, can’t say when. most probably it’s in their final stages. oh well just cant wait for it.
Kudos to masters!. I really enjoy my day that day.
